The Hon. Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Shri. Prahlad Singh Patel addressed a press conference at Ashok Hotel on 11th of March 2021,where he shared details, on 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', which was graced by Shri. G. Kamala Vardhana Rao, IAS, C&MD, India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd.(ITDC ) informing all key stakeholders about the festival and its importance for the country .
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a series of events to be organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence. The Mahotsav will be celebrated as a Jan-Utsav in the spirit of Jan-Bhagidari. The minister asserted that Azadi Amrit Mahotsav means elixir of the energy of independence. It means elixir of inspirations of the warriors of the freedom struggle; the elixir of new ideas and pledges and nectar of Aatmnirbharta. Every citizen of the country will get involved in the “Amrit Mahotsav”, and the Ministry of Culture will provide its support. The padayatra was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12th March 2021. Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Mr.Prahlad Singh Patel will lead the first lap of 75 km with 103 marchers, of which 81 will walk up to Dandi reaching there on April 5, along the original route of the Dandi March held in 1930.
